About Us
Colonial Companies specialize in custom and production slitting of a wide range of flat roll products including Tin Plate, Galvanneal, Galvanized, Electrogalvanized, Cold Rolled, Pre-painted, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and HR P&O. The Colonial team works with customers to develop an inventory management system to store material in our atmospherically controlled environment, ready to ship to meet customer production requirements. Our History
1990
The late William (Bill) J. Thomas Jr., founded Colonial Metal Products, Inc. in 1990. He built the company on the primary principles of providing exceptional customer service with quality products and continual improvement. Colonial continues to operate today under the principles established by the late founder. Our seasoned team is focused on our exceeding our customer's expectations.
2000
Employees have worked together with management to develop and improve a quality system that has been registered to ISO 9001 since the year 2000 at Colonial Metal Products, Inc.
2002
Colonial Metal Products, Inc. relocated from our original 18,000 square foot facility to our current 80,000 square foot facility.
2012
Colonial expanded its capabilities into Stainless products to meet our customer's needs.
2014
Colonial expanded its capabilities to include being able to process Aluminum for our customers.
2018
To enhance our focus on quality products, Colonial incorporated measuring equipment via blue-tooth that directly feeds into our ERP system.
2019
On April 1, 2019, Colonial Slitting Industries, LLC (CSI) was acquired through an asset purchase. This toll processor is housed in a 80,000 square foot facility in Weirton, WV. This location focuses solely on toll slitting.
2021
In December 2021, the Colonial Warehouse was converted into a third-party logistics facility. Colonial Warehouse is an integral part of many supply chains to assist customers and producing mills to be able to utilize a reliable just-in-time model.
2023
The Quality Management System of Colonial Slitting Industries, LLC has been certified to ISO 9001:2015.
