Material Handling and Storage
  1. Upon Arrival, it is important to inspect all incoming pallets for damage that may have inccured in transit (tears, forklift damage, broken pallets, etc.)
  2. Keep the coils wrapped in the rust resistant plastic bag to protect the material from moisture and prevent rust during shipment and storage.
  3. Keep the material in a clean, dry area at a constant temperature.
  4. Keep the material away from moisture.
  5. Rewrap any unused material in the rust resistant bags.


Formula to Convert Linear Feet to Pounds

Multiplier is .0361
Pounds per Linear Foot is equal to slit width X .0361
Total Weight is equal to Pounds per Linear Foot X Linear Feet Needed

For example: You need 150,000 Linear Feet of 1/2" rectangular spacer per month. (Slit width for 1/2" spacer is 1.143")
1.143" X .0361 = .04126 pounds per foot
.04126 X 150,0000 = 6,189.35 pounds of tin plate
Therefore, you would order 6,190 pounds of tin plate coils slit to 1.143"
